Austin is so Green- its GIVING away things to folks, just so it can encourage others to be green too.

Mulch- Crushed Glass mulch. If you haven't seen this stuff yet in cutting edge landscaping, you're about to be surprised. This completely recycled glass from the city can be used around plants and trees. No sharp edges on this glass, and it looks great in xeriscapes. Toilets- Word is that when you order some of the high efficiency toilets from the city and get a rebate, some of them are actually FREE. Dude, free toilet? And its not even used. SCORE!
You can replace up to three toilets per house, but they should be pre-1996 toilets. You can use the old ones in your yard as planters. Check out the details at
